"If ye love wealth better than liberty, the tranquility of servitude better than the animating contest of freedom, go home from us in peace. We ask not your counsels or your arms. Crouch down and lick the hands which feed you. May your chains set lightly upon you, and may posterity forget that you were our countrymen."

Looks, Walks & Quacks

Hans-Gert Pöttering, President of the European Parliament, requests the pleasure of your company at the ceremony of:

The Raising of the Colours of the European Union, which will take place on the eve of the opening of the 7th legislature of the European Parliament, Monday 13th July 2009 at 3.30 p.m., on the "forecourt" of the Louise Weiss Building, European Parliament, Strasbourg.

The European flag will be raised by a detachment of the Eurocorps and the European anthem will be sung by the "Petits Chanteurs de Strasbourg" accompanied by the Philharmonic - Strasbourg Symphonic Orchestra."

I'm beside myself with excitement. How many British MEPs will stand to attention, hand on heart, for this ceremony?

  1. They really are pathetic. They just cannot wait to occupy every Nation in The EU. Bastards.

  2. It was part of the re-written Constitution, aka the Lisbon Treaty, that there would be no flags, symbols or music. They're...well, you know what I think, OR, and it's mostly unprintable.
