"If ye love wealth better than liberty, the tranquility of servitude better than the animating contest of freedom, go home from us in peace. We ask not your counsels or your arms. Crouch down and lick the hands which feed you. May your chains set lightly upon you, and may posterity forget that you were our countrymen."

Ex-Chief of Defence Staff Guthrie speaks out
In a devastating personal attack, Lord Guthrie said that under Brown the Treasury had spent 'the minimum they could get away with' on defence. "As far as helicopters are concerned, of course they need more helicopters. If there had been more, it is very likely that fewer soldiers would have been killed by roadside bombs."
UPDATE: Two more soldiers die, 9 in as many days, 178 & rising

  1. Jimmy doesn't give a monkey. What a disgrace we have as an excuse for a Government. Every individual who voted for these clowns should hang their heads in shame, as should those still prepared to vote for the death of our soldiers.

  2. Ah, OR - I know it's an old chestnut but it's true: socialists hate the Armed Forces. They think that by declaring hatred for war, by being peaceniks and refuseniks, it gives them a moral high ground; what they don't acknowledge is the fact that no sane person likes war. This govt sent our forces to war under-resourced - all for political point-scoring and egos. What Brown did as Chancellor and what he sanctions now as PM is nothing short of criminal negligence towards our Armed Forces. I'm with you all the way on this one, OR.
