"If ye love wealth better than liberty, the tranquility of servitude better than the animating contest of freedom, go home from us in peace. We ask not your counsels or your arms. Crouch down and lick the hands which feed you. May your chains set lightly upon you, and may posterity forget that you were our countrymen."

A Photo For Your Album

Auntie Gudrun (the Fabian with big boots & chewed nails) and Auntie Alice (the milksop with nothing in the bag worth clinging on to)

  1. They look far too friendly, GV!

  2. I'm not sure, OR; there seems to be a hint of distance between them - almost as if Auntie Alice is going to handbag Auntie Gudrun any minute.............
Still, nice photo, and it put me in mind of sepia photos of family long gone.

  3. I truly hope that is how we "thank" them for their services to the country when they are kicked out. Chain them to their dresses and publicly display them on the fourth plinth.

  4. Heat up the pokers first, 13th, brush up the technique for hanging, drawing and quartering and then display them on Gormley's art-for-all-Labour-fest. I'd pay good money for that.
