"If ye love wealth better than liberty, the tranquility of servitude better than the animating contest of freedom, go home from us in peace. We ask not your counsels or your arms. Crouch down and lick the hands which feed you. May your chains set lightly upon you, and may posterity forget that you were our countrymen."

Luton's 3-Month Banning Order

The Home Office has granted Bedfordshire Police a 3-month banning order on marches through Luton town centre following the UAF violence earlier this month in Birmingham (pics).
"Police have announced bans on unofficial marches in Luton amid fears of planned protests by right-wing groups."
'Fears of planned protests'? Surely protests, planned or not, are a sign of a healthy, functioning democracy? You can take your state-sanctioned protests and you-know-what with them while whistling 'Dixie'...

The video below is, for once, being unfair to Brown; there are others who are to blame as well. It's not a bad video but I found the music unnecessarily over-bearing:

"Britain today is a better place..."
Libya, Oil, Lockerbie
Good news: the site, Islamic Awakening, which applauded the deaths of British troops in Afghanistan has been removed.

  1. And bizarrely this protest was allowed to go on:

Surely if we're going to be banning protests by 'right-wing', anti-muslim, groups then we should be banning these equally antagonistic anti-soldier protests by Islamists who are often actively trying to incite violence?

  2. Well, that's good news that they've been charged - thanks for the link. That protest is why the EDL marched in Birmingham earlier this month and wanted to march in Luton on the BH w/end.
