"If ye love wealth better than liberty, the tranquility of servitude better than the animating contest of freedom, go home from us in peace. We ask not your counsels or your arms. Crouch down and lick the hands which feed you. May your chains set lightly upon you, and may posterity forget that you were our countrymen."

Positive News Day

UPDATE: So far Sub Rosa; They're joking, aren't they, and The Daily Politics have expressed interest in the idea. Any more takers?
UPDATE: Even Grumpy Old Twat is joining in (I'm not sure on the odds of him finishing the day though).
UPDATE: Also Barking Spider, Fausty and Events dear boy, Events

Many thanks to Grumpy Old Twat for the changes to the logo.

  1. err . . dare say I could manage a revamp on the logo if you still require it?

Happy to try and be positive too for a change. Just for the one day though, you understand. Not that easy for a Grumpy Old Twat ;-)

  2. Thank you GoT, I'd appreciate that - not sure how many are going to take it up though - we'll see. It's just for one day - it would be supra-human to do it for a whole week. From a GoT like you you I expect a pic of Brown doing the decent thing!

NNW has an idea for the following week as well - if enough take it up perhaps we can keep MiaS's theme flowing until October.

  3. The only thing I'm positive about at the moment, GV, is that I HATE fucking Labour! However, I WILL try - btw posted that clip you asked for.

  7. I thought I was going mad until I realised this was your second post on the subject.

I'll do my best but I'm not sure I'm going to be full of optimism and the joys of life Monday morning, perhaps you should save it for a Friday?

  8. The deed is done Ed - I have to admit that looking through the papers this morning for the Sunday Round-up didn't inspire me with confidence :(

  9. This sounds like a good idea and may prove that the blogosphere is not just a place of "vicious nihilism" (to quote Chipmunk Blears).

I'll get involved tomorrow (if I can think of something).

Then, on Tuesday, it's back to vicious nihilism!

  11. Gigits & LN - you're added to the list. LN - I wouldn't count on it if today's papers are anything to go by. We're really going to have to hunt for good news and then as Gigits says, roll on Tuesday when it's back to normal.
