"If ye love wealth better than liberty, the tranquility of servitude better than the animating contest of freedom, go home from us in peace. We ask not your counsels or your arms. Crouch down and lick the hands which feed you. May your chains set lightly upon you, and may posterity forget that you were our countrymen."

The Sun -v- Labour Party

The Sun Leader joins bloggers in driving another stake through Labour's black heart:
Why is Gordon Brown hiding beneath the parapet and delegating wartime command to a journeyman politician with no natural feel for the role and a department full of incompetents? (That's you, Bollox Bob, and the MoD - you should be used to the description by now).

  1. It seems Oldrighties and our feelings about Afghanistan are gaining credibility!

  2. "So our gallant troops, excellently led in Afghanistan, are under-resourced and poorly directed by the MoD.

The quality of the ministerial and bureaucratic team in the MoD is woeful. Even the Secretary of State is widely known as Bob Ainsworthless on ARRSE, the Army internet chatroom. "

General Sir Anthony Walker: Former Deputy Chief of the Defence Staff.

It is not the Taleban, it is the British Army that is the enemy of the MoD. To me, the 'actions' of this Government, with regard to the war in Afghanistan, amounts to treason in war-time.

  3. They won't be brought to account Edgar, governments in the west never are. Anyone who has voted for Labour in the past can now be in no doubt that they are a party of International Socialist one-world-government peaceniks who deliberately underfunded and underequipped the country's Armed Forces and then sent them to fight in more wars than any other government since 1946.

  4. I'm still waiting for the Mirror to allow me to use their cartoon. :(

It pleased me to see a red top with a sensible headline today.
