"If ye love wealth better than liberty, the tranquility of servitude better than the animating contest of freedom, go home from us in peace. We ask not your counsels or your arms. Crouch down and lick the hands which feed you. May your chains set lightly upon you, and may posterity forget that you were our countrymen."

Hahahahahaha

David Lammy, Higher Education Minister, claimed it was not acceptable that elite institutions gave more places to students with 'White' as their surname than those from black backgrounds.  He said Cambridge University was, wait for it, racist.

He's now had to backtrack.  So, that's good news for Mr White, Mr Brown, Mr Green, Mr Black & Mr Grey who will no longer face re-naming.

  1. Come on, be fair, GV. Mr Lammy is a black man standing up for black people: what's wrong with that? It's no different from a white man standing up for white people.

So, Mr Lammy is a racist.

  2. He wants cambridge (and presumably oxford) to specifically approach inner-city headteachers to encourage more black people to get in, that's basing policy on skin colour - sounds racist to me

  3. "The United Kingdom is still primarily a "white" country, therefore the vast majority of people and students are white. The elite unis cater to a tiny. highly intelligent percentage of the population in general and thus it makes sense to me that any minority will be less represented."

  4. All those comments about Lammy are valid but to say Cambridge Uni is racist because of the number of students who have White as their surname is, forgive the pun, beyond the pale.

  5. Every time that ill-educated twat opens his mouth he sounds more ridiculous and more racist!

  6. Looking at his answers, I can only assume he was awarded the position of Minister for Higher Education by someone with a strange sense of humour or as a result of 'positive discrimination'. Clearly both ways have their pitfalls if this is who we end up with...

  7. I'd forgotten about that, thanks James. I suspect it's Labour's progressive policy of equality for all regardless of aptitude, ie positive discrimination, that got him the job. If Cameron carries on with it I'll be tearing my hair out.

  8. GV - I think it was a 'quirky' statistic that a researcher worked out - in fairness it was dropped as someone obviously realised it was in poor taste

  9. If there is one thing I will simply not stand for it's stupidity, and this guy has it by the boatload. Why is this worthless person an education minister? Fuck it, I want IQ tests for all people running for any elected office, anything below 150 is NOT GOOD ENOUGH!

His stupidity goes beyond simple buffoonery, he is actually a moron, possibly mentally retarded, why is someone like that in power?

  10. Get off the fence, Philip! In fairness to you, you're just saying what we're all thinking.
Sorry Tarquin but I think Lammy's a plonquer with a capital P and an enormous chip on his shoulder.
