"If ye love wealth better than liberty, the tranquility of servitude better than the animating contest of freedom, go home from us in peace. We ask not your counsels or your arms. Crouch down and lick the hands which feed you. May your chains set lightly upon you, and may posterity forget that you were our countrymen."

Better Late Than Never

Not much time for blogging or reading lately so I've only just spotted this while doing a catch-up over at Obnoxio's place.  It's his unique take on the reaction to Osborne's speech yesterday and I have to say I agree with every word - watch out for the language though.

  1. Language like this, you mean:

"This cuntry is completely fucked: we truly are led by exactly the bunch of utter grasping, selfish, uncaring, unaccountable FUCKS that we deserve. "?

The toothy one seems to have missed what was the lesson of the TV programme about Coventry. Not surprising, really, because it was a lesson more obvious than a sky full of bombers, and, in persons of only mean intellect, would have been drilled in only to the extent of every ten seconds of the programme. But the clown missed it.

The point is: every country gets the government it deserves but some nations grow stronger and more unified when the shit really starts to fly. The worse it gets, the more defiant the people of this country become. We are not fucked. We just haven't heard the bombers, yet.

  2. I missed the programme Edgar but catch your drift. Nothing unites a country more than a common enemy, or so they say, and I reckon in this govt there's an ideal focal point so maybe the country will rally round once they're out of office. I often think I hear the bombers already, as do you and others, - or it might be a bout of collective tinnitus.
