"If ye love wealth better than liberty, the tranquility of servitude better than the animating contest of freedom, go home from us in peace. We ask not your counsels or your arms. Crouch down and lick the hands which feed you. May your chains set lightly upon you, and may posterity forget that you were our countrymen."

  2. Far left, far right - I don't think anyone cares about labels any more. All we want is a govt capable of dragging us up from this socialist quagmire.

  3. Labour are dooming themselves, long before the election but at the expense of the country. Why change the habit of a lifetime, eh?

  4. Woolas says that, to counteract the trend, they must get out on the streets. They'd better take bodyguards ....

  5. "Phil Woolas, the borders and immigration minister, said the analysis showed the BNP now posed “a significant threat” to the main parties."

Wrong Phil, they pose a threat to your party. While having no time for the BNP it would be fun to see them snatch a couple of Labour seats and then keep them company on the opposition benches.

  6. Seeing as virtually anyone can sit in Parliament nowadays, elected or not, I do not see why the BNP cannot be there and cause a whole barrage of outrage. Should be great fun to see, might return MPs to planet earth. Not probable tough. Where did it all go wrong?

  7. They brought this shit down on themselves, GV, and Woolas & Co. would be wise to stay off the streets unless they want to be lynched, (after a good kicking, of course!). Mind you, "Labour" and "wise" are not two words one tends to hear mentioned in the same sentence!!

BTW, GV, you can go to http://js-kit.com/ and create a free profile/account which will then remember your log-in details on any blog that uses JS-Kit for comments. That's what I did long before I even installed it on my blog. I did the same thing with Intense debate so I didn't have to mess around at Fausty's, Fido's and Ollie's blogs to name but three. I notice quite a few blogs are using JS-Kit now so it would actually be worth your while to create a profile.

  8. Thanks Spidey, I'll have a look - signing in for intense debate is a real pain in the neck.

I am rather depressed about politics today, feels like we're all banging our heads on brick walls
