"If ye love wealth better than liberty, the tranquility of servitude better than the animating contest of freedom, go home from us in peace. We ask not your counsels or your arms. Crouch down and lick the hands which feed you. May your chains set lightly upon you, and may posterity forget that you were our countrymen."

One Of The Gang

'Sir' Ian Kennedy, the head of IPSA has said he has 'no obligation to implement the recommendations' on MPs' expenses given by Sir Christopher Kelly. Kelly must be wondering why he's wasted his time investigating and preparing a report when MPs could just appoint an insider instead.
He is said to feel that Sir Christopher’s lengthy inquiry, which included more than 1,000 witness statements and nine public hearings, was not a “proper” consultation.
In particular, he has told officials that he is unhappy with proposed reforms which would ban MPs from employing relatives, and require those who made profits from the sale of second homes to hand it over to the taxpayer.
Kennedy was given the knighthood by Blair and was the 'phone-a-friend' option for Alistair Campbell on WWTBAM (don't worry, it's just another soma-show).

They think we've forgotten (vide Julie Kirkbride yesterday). We haven't.

  1. No we haven't forgotten and it's essential we continue to keep such information in the public eye.

  2. We won't forget SR - I'm just sorry that it's come down to ridicule and humiliation on the internet to force their hand. Once upon a time the word 'honourable' actually meant something. I despair.
