"If ye love wealth better than liberty, the tranquility of servitude better than the animating contest of freedom, go home from us in peace. We ask not your counsels or your arms. Crouch down and lick the hands which feed you. May your chains set lightly upon you, and may posterity forget that you were our countrymen."

Political Highlights Of The Week

Two of the funniest things I've seen lately - and the first is fairly typical of the results of Labour's 'blue-sky' thinking, pushing the envelope, running ideas up flagpoles etc etc:

Whose brilliant idea was it to cull 33% of cows & sheep in Britain? (Link to BBC video).  Don't miss the idea for an 18-mile exhaust pipe channelling emissions out of the atmosphere :-)

The other was Paxman interviewing Ed Balls (Children's Secretary) and Paul Goodman (Shadow Communities Minister) last night about the Hizb'ut Tahrir links to publicly-funded schools but unfortunately I can't find a video clip of it.  Neither man came out well but Goodman was very angry, even before the interview began!

UPDATE:  The Balls/Goodman video is now on YouTube:
