"If ye love wealth better than liberty, the tranquility of servitude better than the animating contest of freedom, go home from us in peace. We ask not your counsels or your arms. Crouch down and lick the hands which feed you. May your chains set lightly upon you, and may posterity forget that you were our countrymen."

Say It Ain't So

This is all we need:  Marrakesh Mandy may run for London Mayoralty.  Apparently, a former Labour minister has given Ken Livingstone a “friendly tip-off” about a formidable possible challenger. “He gave me a warning that I should take the Mandelson thing seriously. It was not an attempt to turn me off, just a warning he would go for it,” he said.

In a way it would make some sort of sense; the London Mayor is currently one of the most powerful men in England, after the PM.  When England is fully regionalised it could be the EU's strong anchor from Brussels.  On the other hand, which self-respecting Londoner would vote for this twice-sacked lowlife politician?

  1. GV this makes perfect sense. I wondered where The Mandelbrot Set had gone. If he's going to sell out UK plc completely, getting London under NaZoviet control, plucking it out of UK plc and transfer the wealth streams to Berlin would be just his kind of gig.

  2. As mayor he could easily carry on his Brazilian type activities among the urchin population his crap Labour Party have and are creating.

  3. "Mr Livingstone suggested that he will have a much better chance of beating Mr Johnson if Labour loses the general election next year because protest votes against a Conservative government will boost the party".
What an admission of expecting to fail nationally.

Like INCOMING!!!!!!! I've been wondering why that old snake Mandelbumboy has been so quiet recently, putting it down to not wanting to be involved in the Calamaty Climate Carnage @CO2Penhagen.
Seems a sensible ploy, he would keep his fake Nobility and at the same time become Labours most powerful ruling politician during that parties forthcoming years in the wilderness.

Londoners will know what to do.

  4. Yes, that's my kind of thinking too Incoming; I wish it didn't fit so well as part of the jigsaw. OR, if Mandy was elected London Mayor in 2012 he'd have the full blessing & protection of the EU. They'd probably back him financially in any campaign as well. Let's not forget who sold their Party headquarters to the EU - the Conservatives. (It's now Europe House or somesuch name)

  5. What happened Banned? You weren't there a minute ago! Yes, it looks as though it could be Mandy's fallback position in the event of Labour losing the GE. His being London Mayor is something I couldn't bear.

  6. Spookey indeed. I asked over a week ago I think it was (but I may be wrong because I'm completely stressed out with this Christmas business) where was Mandy.

Wouldn't surprise me in the least that this is what he's up to.

Right, we all need to campaign for Boris. No? I will but then I think he's a nice bloke - I'm a sucker for blue eyes.

  7. Hi SR - I can't believe there's campaign talk already, the election isn't until 2012. There definitely seems to have been a falling out between the Brown/Balls and Mandelson/Darling camps.
