"If ye love wealth better than liberty, the tranquility of servitude better than the animating contest of freedom, go home from us in peace. We ask not your counsels or your arms. Crouch down and lick the hands which feed you. May your chains set lightly upon you, and may posterity forget that you were our countrymen."

*Breaking*: Golden Goodbyes Suspended

Speaker Bercow has just announced that the three MPs being prosecuted under the Theft Act - Chaytor, Morley & Devine - will have their 'golden goodbyes' suspended and a decision will be taken at the end of the trial, which begins on 22nd March. I don't see that there was any other option. These are still just three MPs out of 389 who were ordered to make repayments.

Don't forget about You've Been Cromwelled where you can send an email to a troughing MP telling him/her what you think of them. Responses from the MPs are also published - lots of self-righteous indignation on view.

  1. Trouble is GV, I don't know whether I have the stamina to send about 600 emails!

Admittedly I can hand-deliver the one to Cameron!

  2. It's as easy as clicking a button Mr W - have you had a look? There's even a league table of the most 'cromwelled' MPs. Some of the replies are incredibly arrogant and bombastic - and these are constituents' complaints they're responding to!

  3. They are the Damned, forever more. The losses of each and everyone of them will accrue due to their curse, placed upon them by their own side.

  4. I really hope that constituents check before voting VotR. A w/end poll says only 33% of the electorate won't return a sitting MP accused of troughing - so 67% would! After what this year's thrown up it beggars belief that many of them might be re-elected. I want them to be damned in this life, not the next.
