"If ye love wealth better than liberty, the tranquility of servitude better than the animating contest of freedom, go home from us in peace. We ask not your counsels or your arms. Crouch down and lick the hands which feed you. May your chains set lightly upon you, and may posterity forget that you were our countrymen."

Brown 'Disingenuous'

That's disingenuous spelled l.y.i.n.g.
From The Times:
Admiral Lord Boyce: “He’s dissembling, he’s being disingenuous. It’s just not the case that the Ministry of Defence was given everything it needed”

Colonel Stuart Tootal: “I am quite staggered by the lack of any sense of responsibility. He was the man with the purse strings.”

From the Telegraph:
General Lord Walker: Defence chiefs threatened to resign over the cuts they had to make because of the 2004 settlement.

General Lord Guthrie: “To say Gordon Brown has given the military all they asked for is simply not true.”

Maj Gen Patrick Cordingley: “The real truth is the Armed Forces are underfunded.”

From the Daily Mail:
General Sir Richard Dannatt: 'Gordon Brown bears responsibility for not fully funding the defence review of his government, and for claiming credit for increasing funding when actually there was a reduction in value.

Other words Brown might like to think about this morning: nonsense; hyperbole; dissembling.
