"If ye love wealth better than liberty, the tranquility of servitude better than the animating contest of freedom, go home from us in peace. We ask not your counsels or your arms. Crouch down and lick the hands which feed you. May your chains set lightly upon you, and may posterity forget that you were our countrymen."

Video: Paxman/Nick Griffin Interview

From Saturday's special edition of Newsnight.  I thought Griffin did well against some uninspired and condescending questioning from Paxman.

  1. You're right, GV - Griffin did quite well, although he was patently nervous. Sneery Paxo needs to be put out to pasture.

Interestingly, Sean Gabb of the Libertarian Alliance has come out in defence of the BNP.

  2. Maybe Paxman's just jaded, Fausty? He's been at it for so long he either seems tamed or bored these days - he's certainly no attack-dog. The 'questions' he asked were pretty feeble (uniforms, placement of medals etc) but at least Griffin didn't um and er like most politicians.

I've read lots of Gabb's articles in the past and he's always made sense. What wouldn't make sense is for a Libertarian to oppose the existence of a legitimate political party. I haven't read the one you refer to but I'll try and track it down for reading later - thanks.
