"If ye love wealth better than liberty, the tranquility of servitude better than the animating contest of freedom, go home from us in peace. We ask not your counsels or your arms. Crouch down and lick the hands which feed you. May your chains set lightly upon you, and may posterity forget that you were our countrymen."

Are We Being Threatened? #2

Yes, we are.

Are we being threatened? #1

  1. GV not so much threatened but nudged in that gentle fluffy behavioural economist way so beloved of The Mandelbrot Set and their Fabian fools. That is until we get fed up being nannied. Then the true face of fascism comes out from behind the mask and it is Lead Pill Pharmacy time and removal of credits and/or livelyhood.

  2. Hi Incoming, in 2007 at the Conservative party conference Cameron said he believed in 'nudging' rather than nannying - that's what his Big Society is all about. Despite their assurances about a UK Sovereignty Bill and referenda about passing further powers to the EU, I think we'll find that's where we end up anyway.

  3. Yes we are being threatened. They have a nerve. We are the second largest contributor to the EU and get sod all back.

Time to leave and tell them to stick their Euro where the sun don't shine!

  4. True, Sue. We already contributed extra funds to the IMF and the EU to support Greece plus the budget has been increased by 6% plus an extra £450m on top and now the £15bn agreed by Darling at the weekend. The UK taxpayer just keeps on giving!

Didn't we reject a peace offer from Hitler so we could swim back over the channel to save their sorry French arses?

    Ungrateful little frog.

  6. You've got a long memory Anon :-) We should have rejected De Gaulle's reluctant offer to join the EEC as well - but everything's planned and nothing happens accidentally in politics (I think Pres Hoover said that - not sure).
