"If ye love wealth better than liberty, the tranquility of servitude better than the animating contest of freedom, go home from us in peace. We ask not your counsels or your arms. Crouch down and lick the hands which feed you. May your chains set lightly upon you, and may posterity forget that you were our countrymen."

Joke Of The Day

I love this - it shows how unreliable polls can be and how mischievous people are: "Abbott out in front as poll tips Britain's first black female MP to win Labour leadership race."
The strongest backing for the Hackney North and Stoke Newington MP in the poll came from Tory and Lib Dem voters.
It's good to see we Brits have retained our sense of humour after thirteen years of pseudo- puritanical government.  I'm slightly disappointed though - I voted for Ed Balls.

  1. Of course newly befriended Tories and Libdems would support Dianne to add to the confusion of
Labour MPs who will be torn between the requirement to appear PC and the reality that many, even among their own supporters, who would not vote for a party whose leader is....
    thick as a plank.

There was you thinking I was going to play the race card, ho ho ho.

  2. I could have posted a pic of a packet of chocolate hobnobs, Andrew Neil-style, but thought better of it. I like the soh in voting for Abbott as the one most likely to keep Labour in Opposition for a generation - great thinking on the part of all those LibDem/Tory voters.
