"If ye love wealth better than liberty, the tranquility of servitude better than the animating contest of freedom, go home from us in peace. We ask not your counsels or your arms. Crouch down and lick the hands which feed you. May your chains set lightly upon you, and may posterity forget that you were our countrymen."

Counties To Go

Royal Mail has announced that English counties will no longer be necessary in 2015 - they are to be phased out, abolished.  All the better to regionalise you, my dear.

I spot a link between this development and the severing of historic local ties between regiments of the Armed Forces and their Counties.  Why can't tptb just bloody well leave things alone and stop tinkering?

You know this comes from Brussels don't you? Our "leaders" are nothing more than regional administrators, managing the destruction of England on behalf of others.

Coincidentally I've just read a book on the history of the Dorset Regiment. They were the first regiment in India at the beginning of the 'Raj' (re: CaMORON's recent visit there).

They amalgamated with the Devonshires after the Great War and served with great distinction as the Devon & Dorsets in WWII - hitting the beaches on D-Day.

They disappeared under Noo Labour, becoming 'The Rifles', a horrible generic term for almost every infantry unit - socialists are utter killjoys with no sense of history.

Going back to your blog CR, have you seen that map the eurofreaks produced, the 'Britain of nations and regions' one? No fucking England! Won't do 'em any good, we're on their case down here in Wessex - oooh, there's another historic word they won't like.

Their deviousness knows no bounds: to 'regionalise you, my dear', yes indeed CR. Well, we will huff and we will puff and we will blow their House down. Forever England mate.

  4. Mr W - smell a rat? The rotten corpse is decomposing beneath our noses.

@ I am Sick - that about sums it up.

Steve, you're right - cutting the link between regiments and Counties was designed to sever local roots - the AF version of civilian multiculturalism.

Yes, I've seen the maps, blogged about them and dreamed about them. Sometimes I think the best thing I could do is just re-post everything since March 2009 so new readers can get the info they need. I'm quietly going bananas.

There's no point warning about this stuff anymore - it's already with us. My blog's raison d'etre is defunct.
