"If ye love wealth better than liberty, the tranquility of servitude better than the animating contest of freedom, go home from us in peace. We ask not your counsels or your arms. Crouch down and lick the hands which feed you. May your chains set lightly upon you, and may posterity forget that you were our countrymen."

  1. Funnily enough I found a load of his stuff on Youtube just the other day, including some of his new songs.

He's still brilliant. Clever writer and somehow his songs live on and on..... Classic performer.

  2. He's kept his integrity and that's what I admire about him.

Was this the first song of his to hit the charts? (c.1966) If so, it shows that nothing ever changes.

  3. I don't know if it was his first one.... but it's amazingly good.

Clever lyrics and good tune ... the arrangement is incredibly good too, complex and layer and finally, he's a fair singer.

Yeah ...a rare talent, all in all.

Catch Bull at Four; Tea for the Tillerman are albums surely everyone has in their collection of classics.
