"If ye love wealth better than liberty, the tranquility of servitude better than the animating contest of freedom, go home from us in peace. We ask not your counsels or your arms. Crouch down and lick the hands which feed you. May your chains set lightly upon you, and may posterity forget that you were our countrymen."

Coming Soon To A TV Near You

Ex-Maoist (at least, I assume he's an 'ex') Barroso, President of the European Commission, intends to deliver a State of the Union address to the plebs each year. It will be along similar lines to the American Presidential SoftheU address and will tell us everything we need to know about the glorious achievements of the Union and how it has enriched all our lives. We must be sure to tug our forelocks in acqueiscent gratitude.

There are also plans afoot to pay journalists to accompany Barroso wherever he goes, 24/7.  Apparently tptb think he needs to raise his profile in order to present a pleasing and cohesive picture to the electorate (who, of course, didn't elect him).

More on Barroso here

The EU can never be laughed at too often:

  1. I'd sooner tug what little forelock this piece of work has left.

  2. His little maoist friends probably did that years ago, OR. The EU is a menace. Since the beginning of the year and the coming into effect of the Lisbon Treaty the msm has had no option but to report on it. They can't ignore it any more because they'd look like useful idiots and/or paid fools. Pity about the BBC though - it falls into both categories.
