"If ye love wealth better than liberty, the tranquility of servitude better than the animating contest of freedom, go home from us in peace. We ask not your counsels or your arms. Crouch down and lick the hands which feed you. May your chains set lightly upon you, and may posterity forget that you were our countrymen."

In Black & White At Last

The row over tuition fees has stirred up more than one hornet's nest. Finally, a mainstream newspaper has joined the dots for those who couldn't be bothered to do it for themselves:
This inequality exists because nations are required under EU law to charge European students the same rates as home undergraduates. But Brussels is not thought to have powers to stand up for English students. Since England is only a constituent part of the UK, its students are not officially ‘an EU nation’.
Read it again:  " ...not officially an EU nation."

Perhaps the people who ignored bloggers' warnings will now sit up and take notice.

Get this into your heads:  ENGLAND DOES NOT EXIST.  WE HAVE BEEN WIPED FROM THE FACE OF MAPS AND ARE ONLY A COLLECTION OF REGIONS.

Were we asked, consulted, about this, about becoming a non-people?  Of course not.  It was done by stealth and manipulation, drip, drip, drip, by people not worthy of the epithet 'Honourable Gentleman' and undeserving of your vote.  They never represented you at all.  Parliament is a sham.  Democracy is a sham. The whole kit'n'caboodle is an illusion.

Do you still think it's coincidence that England has been the major recipient, above Scotland, Wales or N.Ireland, of immigration from other countries?  What better way to weaken a people and their culture.  Remember Jack Straw's words that the English aren't worth saving as a race.  Do you take him seriously now?  Even Cameron himself has used the term 'Little Englanders' to denote something offensive.

Check out Campaign for an English Parliament, sign the English Claim of Right, write to your MP, write to Cameron, write to the Queen, kick up a stink.  How much more proof do you need?  Why aren't we on the streets?

  2. Let's break up the UK, and all Recommencer a Zero!. Then we can all separately negotiate our way into, or out of all, the treties we want.

England will be a nation again, instead of just an adjunct.

You see how frustrating it is to be an unimportant incumberance to a much larger and more important place...

We are used to it. It it's not the EU that is crapping on us it's England. We have never mattered at all.

  3. There is no reason why you should matter to us tris. Scotland has always been a nuisance and an unnecessary expense to England, and it's long past time we got rid of you.

  4. @ Bill but I always thought we English were made of sterner stuff. If the bill want to see my damarts, they're more than welcome :-)

Tris, I've found it very hard to accept England being cast adrift via political mechanisms of devolution to Scotland, Wales, N.Ireland but it's not right to equate 17thC problems with current ones.

I've resisted dissolution of the Union because I thought we would be stronger together. It seems I've been stupid. I never realised the distaste for England until I begain blogging.

I have to say that any SNPers who think they'd be better allied to the EU than to a truly independent United Kingdom of Great Britain & Northern Ireland are terribly mistaken.

Scotland does matter to us, Billy Goat Gruff. They're our family, friends and allies.

I honestly believe that the students are onto a good deal with Cables new fees regime if only they would think about it properly but if the EU want to make them enemies by "allowing" (sic, like it should have anything to do with them) this 'victimisatin' of just our English younglings then good luck to them and their protests. How not to win friends and influence people, make middle class intelligent people into 'victims', LOL.

  8. Cable should step up and defend it then and he should vote for it in the HoC - not abstain. It's ridiculous. LibDems are wimps.
