"If ye love wealth better than liberty, the tranquility of servitude better than the animating contest of freedom, go home from us in peace. We ask not your counsels or your arms. Crouch down and lick the hands which feed you. May your chains set lightly upon you, and may posterity forget that you were our countrymen."

  1. That was nice, thank you.

BBC Radio 2 refrained from saturating the airwaves with Xmas ditties until the second week of December whish is, in my view, quite acceptable.

  2. You're welcome :-) I've been lucky so far - I've managed to avoid all the ads and the songs. I might play the iconic Fairytale of NY at some point but that will be it - apart from Little St Nick if I can find a good version.

  3. Fairytail would be good as The Pogues are in the middle of their farewell tour at the moment.

  4. Oh well, they've been going for years and leave us some terrific songs. I saw them live when the Forum was the T&C - great night.
