"If ye love wealth better than liberty, the tranquility of servitude better than the animating contest of freedom, go home from us in peace. We ask not your counsels or your arms. Crouch down and lick the hands which feed you. May your chains set lightly upon you, and may posterity forget that you were our countrymen."

Using The 'Off' Button

Many people are fond of complaining about items on tv they find offensive, it's as if they'd rather take the time to fire off an email, write a letter or pick up a phone than just reach for the remote.  This ad should encourage them to find the off switch in double-quick time.  Is there nothing this greasy, claptrap-spouting no-mark won't do:

Nope and that includes the breathtaking hypocrisy of taking a peerage! Then there's Kinnock and.............................

  3. No, I don't think there is - and this man is a member of the House of Lords.

  5. It's a total disgrace which is why I felt compelled to do an alternative version in the vain hope that the blissfully unaware 'box watchers' would realise exactly what a disgrace this fat lump of lard really is.

Probably a waste of time, considering what a shithole this country has become, but I still live in hope.

  6. I doubt it too, Fausty. I wonder how much longer we can all go on living in hope? Any hope I once had of things changing has rapidly evaporated.

University/ researcher/lobbying firm /quango /civil servant or MP/ House of Lords or the EU or both - it's a very smooth gravy train, OR,

Only the voice of the people can change things Opsimath and I don't think they care enough to do anything positive about it so, yes, God help us all.

Sorry PJH - I'm useless at guessing acronyms - HTH? But you're right, there seems to be an army of sofa-sitters watching tv in the hope that they can fire off a complaint somewhere or other instead of just switching off or over.

@ Max - Prescott likes to think he's a 'man of the people' and he revels in his own loutish, bullying behaviour. I dropped by your place to have a look - good re-mix.
