"If ye love wealth better than liberty, the tranquility of servitude better than the animating contest of freedom, go home from us in peace. We ask not your counsels or your arms. Crouch down and lick the hands which feed you. May your chains set lightly upon you, and may posterity forget that you were our countrymen."

Beware A Man On A Mission

Especially when that man's a politician from the tips of his buffed, shiny toecaps to the tips of his neatly-gelled hair.

Big Society
Big Society Bank
Big Society ISAs
Big Society Stock Exchange
Big Society University
Big Society Network

and, to oversee it all, a Big Society Evangelist.

The BS University isn't about night-schools or teaching skills to enable the man on the street to climb the employment ladder, it's about state-sponsored training of community volunteers and  "social entrepreneurs".  This isn't localism or power to the people, it's another layer of state-funded bureacracy and interference between the people and those whom they elect to govern.  It's a further distancing from the unelected and unreachable powers-that-be in Brussels.  It's Red Tories, the Third Way, Agenda 21 and communitarianism writ large.

Cameron may declare himself a man on a mission, but it isn't his mission, it's a UN mission and the UK isn't the only country to be affected.  We're all in it together with a common purpose.

You can find more in the sidebar - Kissin' Cousins 'Living outside the dialectic'.

  1. Very neatly 'summed-up' GV! Short, sharp and most definitely to the point.

  2. The big problem for the bastards is communication we have, these days. I guess it will be stopped eventually but Egypt did it, so can we. Overthrow the NWO swine.

  3. Thank you, both. I wish more people would read up on Alinsky and communitarianism. Changing a name from Third Sector, Third Way, Big Society, whatever, doesn't alter what it is at its core.

Good point, OR - communication is the tool, whether it's social networking or blogging. It's not surprising that we've seen lots of spurious reasons lately why governments should have more control. Google 'Obama's internet kill switch' and see what comes up.

  4. "it's another layer of state-funded bureacracy and interference between the people and those whom they elect to govern" Precisly my thoughts on hearing about these "community organisers" on the radio the other day. John Prescott will be having a good old laugh as such a scam would be right up his street

  5. Yes, it's the same old same old. Many of the policies Cameron's proposing have been mentioned over the past 13 yrs - eg taking money from dormant bank a/cs and putting it towards 'good causes'. You can't put a lighted candle between the three of them.
