"If ye love wealth better than liberty, the tranquility of servitude better than the animating contest of freedom, go home from us in peace. We ask not your counsels or your arms. Crouch down and lick the hands which feed you. May your chains set lightly upon you, and may posterity forget that you were our countrymen."

Things That Have Made Me Eggy Today

The first one really should be called 'Quote of the Day':

‘I came to England seven years ago because this is where the love is. We will speak to other people from all over the world to come here and live because it is so easy. Why can’t we live anywhere we want?

Gadaffi: "Rivers of blood" used in a literal sense
Go on then
Geithner is right
After days of warning, Iranian warships enter the Suez Canal
Cameron is the one 'at odds with reality' - Kuwait isn't a democratic country
Everyone wants the press on their side - even the police
Profiling children 'many years off', says government

Really, there's too much to list but this must take the biscuit:  Italy backs Libya.  I'll leave it to you to wonder why.

  1. GV, I have long since come to the logical conclusion that there are very few sensible ones of us left!

Saw this story and it beggars belief that there are people in this country unable to get legal aid now, yet bloody foreigners can walk in, pay nothing to the state and receive it!

The sooner I can introduce our politicos and 'crats to their reserved lamp posts, the better!

  2. Mr W - I think you mean 'we' and, as for that, it's a delusion. They won't be brought to account in my lifetime, much as I'd like to see it. The results won't be felt for a few decades yet.

There are no 'reserved lamp-posts' waiting for them, not from our generation. All of this has been gradual and they've finally caught the monkey.

Where is Witney btw? Is it on the northern line? ;-)
