"If ye love wealth better than liberty, the tranquility of servitude better than the animating contest of freedom, go home from us in peace. We ask not your counsels or your arms. Crouch down and lick the hands which feed you. May your chains set lightly upon you, and may posterity forget that you were our countrymen."

  1. With that 100% GV - and it will happen!

A few lessons by the criminal fraternity might just be learned!

  2. Epic fail! I'm not provoked at all since I agree with all of it, except that there is no debate.

  4. Message received, MrW.
@ Banned - no political party will answer why it is that we have the toughest gun regulation anywhere in the world yet guns are used increasingly in crime. You're right - there's no debate at all, it's completely closed down.

Hi McG - I'm not holding my breath but at least the law-abiding majority would have a fighting chance - especially in their own homes. As it stands at the moment only criminals find it easy to buy guns.

Don't forget Obama and the UN are trying to find ways to take the right to bear arms away from Americans. tptb don't want armed civilian populations.

  5. Interesting case in Ontario, Canada recently: weapons instructor woke up one night to find the neighbours trying to set fire to his house. He grabbed a gun and fired 'at' the neighbours, carefully missing them. However, he was charged with various firearms offenses. After much outcry, most of the charges were dropped but he still faces - if I remember correctly - one charge on the careless storage of firearms.

  6. That's the sort of thing that goes on here too, Frances. Householders are supposedly allowed to use "reasonable force" to protect themselves and their property yet those who do are threatened with prosecution on the flimsiest pretext.

One County police force recently told people not to put chicken wire over shed windows because burglars could sue them if they hurt themselves when breaking in and stealing their lawn mowers. The repeated lack of common sense eventually drives normal people to anger.
