"If ye love wealth better than liberty, the tranquility of servitude better than the animating contest of freedom, go home from us in peace. We ask not your counsels or your arms. Crouch down and lick the hands which feed you. May your chains set lightly upon you, and may posterity forget that you were our countrymen."

Steal, Pay Back, Refund

That's how it seems. MPs who had to repay wrongly claimed or misallocated allowances were allowed to repay them secretly, thus keeping their 'errors' hidden from their constituents. It now seems that some of them have had those repayments paid back to them, secretly.

Despite two expensive Inquiries (Kennedy and Legg) we seem to be starting from square one all over again:
Evidence of the issues comes after the Independent Parliamentary Standards Authority (Ipsa) announced it is "actively considering" giving MPs freer rein over budgets again, and checking their spending retrospectively.
Just vote the b@st@rds out. I really don't know why we bother with the thieving scum. There's an old saying: give them enough rope and they'll hang themselves.  Well, I think they've got enough rope by now.

  1. "There's an old saying: give them enough rope and they'll hang themselves. Well, I think they've got enough rope by now."

Typical politicians - something handed to them on a plate and they still can't do the job properly!

    Just die, you bastards!

  2. :-) You have a point; the only thing we can be sure of is that the majority of them like to stuff their wallets. No wonder taxpayers are suffering when MPs, MEPs and Bankers all have their hands in their pockets.
