"If ye love wealth better than liberty, the tranquility of servitude better than the animating contest of freedom, go home from us in peace. We ask not your counsels or your arms. Crouch down and lick the hands which feed you. May your chains set lightly upon you, and may posterity forget that you were our countrymen."

Two articles from the same paper which highlight the almost total disconnect between ordinary people and the politicians, particularly those responsible for justice in this country:

Severely wounded Para's compensation increased to £580k - after a legal battle

Foreign millionaire gets £372k for 6 days in the cells when implicated in SFO enquiries into BAE bribes

We can all see that something is badly wrong with the English judicial system yet our Westminster Assembly just doesn't have the will, or the capability, to tackle it. It's sheer madness.

A few years ago I'd have been impatiently champing at the bit and waiting for the next election, local or general, to change things round but now? Now I'm older and wiser. Nothing will change unless we make our voices heard.
