"If ye love wealth better than liberty, the tranquility of servitude better than the animating contest of freedom, go home from us in peace. We ask not your counsels or your arms. Crouch down and lick the hands which feed you. May your chains set lightly upon you, and may posterity forget that you were our countrymen."

#No2EU Trending On Twitter/Sainthood for Schuman

It may seem puerile to take such pleasure in the fact that the #No2EU tag is top of the trending pile on Twitter within the UK (not yet worldwide) but sometimes it's the small things that make a grey sky blue :-) I particularly like the fact that it's Europe Day and it's a twittered two-fingered salute (a twuck-off) to Barroso, Ashton, van Rompuy and pals. Not to mention Cameron and the rest of the Lib/Lab/Con con.

Coffee House has a series of graphs from Eurobarometer showing the UK at the bottom of the pile when it comes to rating the EU. Only 29% of Britons think the EU is a force for good in this country.

Here's just one reason why we don't trust them: Advisory body on tax-scam avoidance stuffed with tax-scammers
"In April, the commission appointed 16 individuals to the 'Joint Transfer Pricing Forum' an 'expert group' intended to advise the EU executive on the subject, alongside a representative from each member state.

But it appears that Brussels has put the foxes in charge of guarding the hen house.

Every single one of the independent 'non-governmental experts' on the panel comes from a multinational, including Shell, BAE Systems, Unilever and Fiat, and the 'Big Four' accounting firms, KPMG, Deloitte, Ernst & Young and Pricewaterhouse Coopers.

The chair, Bruno Gibert, hails from CMS Bureau Francis Lefebvre, one of the top three tax law firms in the world and a specialist in transfer pricing. Its website says: "Transfer pricing is providing significant opportunities for multinational enterprises to adapt internal remuneration policies to maximise tax effectiveness."

Many of the companies appointed have great experience in avoiding paying their tax."
Anyone thinking these insiders are best placed to close the loop-holes and so act against their clients' interests, is seriously deluded.

UPDATE: As if we don't already have enough sh!t coming out of the EU here's another of their little wheezes: EU attempts to make Robert Schuman a Saint. Every day in every way they're creating a la-la land.

  1. To make any referendum feasible we should constitutionalize them what means change of most of the constitutions. And the establishment will not agree on this power without blood (look at their reaction for the Greek referendum proposal).

  2. Welcome, mpixxx :-) You're right. After Greece and Italy, even the media can't ignore the fact that the EU is anti-democracy. And look at Ireland, for example. Enda Kenny promised the earth before the GE but afterwards he just fell into line like all the rest. Cameron's in it up to his neck.
