"If ye love wealth better than liberty, the tranquility of servitude better than the animating contest of freedom, go home from us in peace. We ask not your counsels or your arms. Crouch down and lick the hands which feed you. May your chains set lightly upon you, and may posterity forget that you were our countrymen."

Why We Will Never Be Theirs

Two posts struck a chord this weekend: THIS and THIS. One pulled at my heart, the other at my mind.

The fact is that we will never be 'theirs' or belong to others because freedom is inbuilt in our hearts, souls and minds. It's inherent in man's nature, wherever he comes from, and it's the natural state of being to fight against chains:

It's as simple as that. It's possible to control politicians and the media but no-one can control the thoughts and minds of the people.

That's the bottom line and that's why I have faith. Any number of beatings & fines won't change our hearts. Dip a toe into the water and just say 'No'.

It's our music, our lives, our families. Not theirs.
