"If ye love wealth better than liberty, the tranquility of servitude better than the animating contest of freedom, go home from us in peace. We ask not your counsels or your arms. Crouch down and lick the hands which feed you. May your chains set lightly upon you, and may posterity forget that you were our countrymen."

Vying For Position + Videos

It's what we've all been waiting for as we gather together around around the fireside each evening and turn on our tv screens; it's yet another instalment in the long-running political drama entitled, "It's Not Us, Guv," in which leaders of political parties unite and reach consensus that current political problems are nothing to do with them.

SPOILER ALERT: If you don't want to know the ending, look away now or switch channels - Big Brother is just about to begin another long-running series:

(Problem with Cameron videos now sorted out)

Thanks for the memories to LiarPoliticians

So, that's it: in essence Miliband blames us and Cameron and Cameron blames us and the police. More welfare, more looking into the minds of the looters, more water cannon, more "robust" policing. It's the Third Way writ large - heads they win, tails we lose.

  1. So let me get this straight. Miliband wants an enquiry yet judging by the content of his speech he already has it solved. Miliband also wants the young people involved in the enquiry. Would those be the same young people who he described as being involved for which there was no excuse?

  2. I think that's perfectly reasonable question, RB, after all, we've seen them on tv, face-masked and unintelligible, giving their point of view so why shouldn't they sit on a government panel to tell us what's gone wrong with English society?

    Every other f@cker does it.

  3. Just for info, your post "Grrrr" leads to "this page does not exist"

It is quite clear that none of our politicians has the slightest idea about what is wrong with the multi-generation feral underclass and no amount of their daft enquiries will make them any the wiser.

  4. Spot on, Banned. It's quite a depressing state of affairs really.

Yes, it's in drafts - the content didn't live up to the title :-)
