"If ye love wealth better than liberty, the tranquility of servitude better than the animating contest of freedom, go home from us in peace. We ask not your counsels or your arms. Crouch down and lick the hands which feed you. May your chains set lightly upon you, and may posterity forget that you were our countrymen."

A Statement From El Presidente

Our President has taken time out of his busy schedule to tell us what good works he and his colleagues in the European Commission will be doing this Autumn. In between organising another G20 summit, finalising the Financial Transaction Tax and tweaking the European Financial Stability Mechanism he will also be visiting Australia, Singapore and New Zealand. Three cheers for our Leader and all the other unelected Commissioners who work so tirelessly on our behalf, promoting peace, harmony and light wherever they go:

Here's a special mention for David Cameron, Leader of the Westminster Regional Assembly:

  1. Please remind me, how many EU Presidents do we currently have, I seem to have lost count?

  2. :-) You're not the only one, Banned. There's Barroso, van Rompuy and the six-monthly rotational Presidents. That's quite a few.
