"If ye love wealth better than liberty, the tranquility of servitude better than the animating contest of freedom, go home from us in peace. We ask not your counsels or your arms. Crouch down and lick the hands which feed you. May your chains set lightly upon you, and may posterity forget that you were our countrymen."

Politics Sucks

Let's pretend that we are individuals, capable of having our own thoughts and ordering our own lives.  Let's pretend that the State doesn't intrude into every facet of our lives. Let's have a cup of coffee:

If you've ever tasted British politics, you'll know that the mood music is good but it's really hard to swallow.

Cynical?  I also know that the sound on the video couldn't possibly have been produced by the team on the tube but I still love it. I want to believe it and wish I was there on the morning they stepped into the carriage to uplift my day but I think I know too much. There's no going back.

  1. GV, That's the saddest part of all. That these government vermin have injected themselves so far into our lives, they're like toilet paper and prostrate exams.

I posted this very recently. It's just a picture worth a million words.

The difference between then and now is indescribable. Seriously. Today, the outside world coming at you is stifling and disgusting. It's so very hard to ignore.

That today's kids are clamoring for more of it is beyond maddening.

    1. That's a good one, Kid. Opie got it right when she pointed the finger at the state education system, the national curriculum has done many children no favours at all.

Blogging is a learning curve - and once you're on it you can't go back. Who was it who said, "What has been seen cannot be unseen"?

    2. . Who was it who said, "What has been seen cannot be unseen"?

GV, I don't know but I'll bet they were standing in a WalMart !

    3. Hah-ha! I daren't go back to the site now - it was very scary ;)
