"If ye love wealth better than liberty, the tranquility of servitude better than the animating contest of freedom, go home from us in peace. We ask not your counsels or your arms. Crouch down and lick the hands which feed you. May your chains set lightly upon you, and may posterity forget that you were our countrymen."

Never Surrender

"Though much is taken, much abides; and though
We are not now that strength which in old days
Moved earth and heaven, that which we are, we are;
One equal temper of heroic hearts,
Made weak by time and fate, but strong in will
To strive, to seek, to find, and not to yield.”

Tennyson (1809-1892) Poet Laureate

    Good to see you back, by the way did you catch Christina: A medieval life, twas on Beeb 4, still on iplayer. A snapshot of an earlier age, a true English Woman and proof that there is nothing new in how our 'betters' treat us.

  2. thanks for posting this. a great reminder that often, mind does win over matter.

    1. Thank you, Jay Son. The quote gives me peace & the hope that all will be well if we stick together.
